The steps are slightly different for Android and iPhone, but the idea is the same. That is, when you create a WhatsApp group, you will be asked to add the participants to that group. Now since you’re creating a group with yourself, a person might just want to add themselves. But that is not possible for two reasons.
First, you don’t need to add yourself. The owner or creator of the group is added automatically. Second, you need to add at least one person to create a group. That person could be anyone. But to be on the safe side and avoid trouble, add a close friend or family member. The reason is that you need to remove them after adding them.

Create a WhatsApp group with yourself on Android
Step 1: Open WhatsApp on your Android phone and tap on the three dots icon at the top. Select New Group.
Step 2: Add a participant of your choice and tap the green next icon at the bottom.
Step 3: Enter the group name in the group subject box. You can even add a group photo by tapping the group icon. Tap the green checkmark icon.

Step 4: To remove the person from the group, open the newly created WhatsApp group on your phone. Tap the group name at the top. Alternatively, tap the three-dot icon at the top and select Group Info.
Step 5: Scroll down in the group information section and you will find the participants section. Tap the name of the participant you want to remove. Select Remove from the menu. A confirmation pop-up will appear. Click OK.
Create a WhatsApp group with yourself on iPhone
Step 1: Open WhatsApp and tap on New Group option at the top.
Step 2: Add the participants of your choice and tap Next.
Step 3: Enter the group name in the Subject box and click Create.

Step 4: To remove the person, open the group you created and tap the group’s name at the top.
Step 5: Scroll down and tap the person’s name below Participants. Select Remove from group and tap Remove to confirm when asked.
What happens when you add or remove a person from a WhatsApp group
When you add a person to a WhatsApp group, they will be notified of it and the group will show up on their phone. If you send messages to the group without deleting them, they will receive the message.
After you delete the person, they will see the text that you deleted them. Even though the group will be on their phone, they won’t be able to send or receive messages in that group. So now you have the whole team to yourself. You should pin the group for quick access, as shown below.

How to self WhatsApp on Android and iPhone
There are two methods to do that.
Method 1: Add a contact
In this method, you need to save your number in the contact list. Then launch the Contacts app and open the newly saved contact. You will find the Messages option on WhatsApp. Touch it.
It will take you to your chat thread on WhatsApp. Type the message and press Enter. Now, you can text yourself. You can pin a chat thread to show it at the top.
Method 2: Use the Click to Chat feature
WhatsApp offers a feature called Click to chat where you can message someone without having their phone number saved on your phone. We will use the help of this concept to text ourselves.
For that, follow these steps:
Step 1: Add your phone number at the end of the link http://wa.me/ including the country code but without the symbols and spaces. You can use any note-taking app to do so.
For example, if your phone is +91 1234567890, your link will be http://wa.me/911234567890. You can also use the direct wa.me/ link — wa.me/911234567890. Copy and paste this link into your phone’s browser.
Step 2: WhatsApp will launch your chat thread. Send a message to make it appear in the chat thread. Then, pin it as shown below. Now, you can easily text yourself.

Pin WhatsApp Groups or Chats
Usually, a group or thread that you create yourself for messaging will stop working when you receive a new message. To keep it on top, you can pin it. That makes it easy to text yourself quickly.
To do that, touch and hold the group name on the WhatsApp home screen on Android and select Pin at the top.
On iPhone, swipe right on the group on the WhatsApp home screen and select Pin.
