But GIFs are in a category entirely of their own. There’s no Spotify or Netflix for GIFs — there’s nowhere to play them one after the other. What if you wanted to create a slideshow of GIFs that you downloaded from the internet or created yourself? With the GifJung app for iOS, you can now.
How to download and save GIFs
I’ve talked about downloading and sending GIFs from iPhone in the past, and so the GIFwrapped app is still the best out there. It has everything from reaction GIFs to pop culture. Just search for a GIF and save it to your device.
Touch Discover to search for a GIF. Next, tap the GIF thumbnail to preview it. Now tap Share in the top right, then select Share photos, and from the default iOS 8 share sheet select Save Image to save the GIF to your device.
How to record your own GIFs
The easiest way to make GIFs from your own phone is an app called Camoji. You can use it to take 5 seconds of video and the app will process it and create a looping GIF that you can save to your device or share it to any social network.

Use Mac/PC to create more complex GIFs: If you’re looking to create GIFs from videos or movies yourself, you may need to use a web or desktop app to do so. You can also use software like Photoshop to create GIFs.
How to make a GIF slideshow with GifJung
But let’s get back on track. On your iPhone or iPad, download GifJung and start it up. It will automatically detect GIFs stored on your device.
Touch Play at the top right to create a slideshow and From selected GIF select the GIF you want in your slideshow and tap Begin.
GIF playback will start one by one. Each GIF will play once, and instead of repeating, the app will move on to the next GIF. Yup, that’s easy.
