How to Block SMS in SMS Organizer and Other Cool Tips

Microsoft’s popular SMS Organizer app is one of the best text messaging apps out there. The app automatically organizes all your incoming messages into different folders based on their content, leaving your inbox completely clutter-free. But that’s not all the app does. It also does a great job of reducing the number of SMS notifications you receive, by simply filtering out all promotional or spam messages.

However, the app is not perfect in any way, and at times, a stray spam message may appear in your notifications. Thankfully, the app has a feature where you can block any other messages from the same sender.

And that is what we are going to talk about in this article. So let’s jump right into this and see how you can block incoming SMS messages using the SMS Organizer app.

So, if you are tired of receiving spam messages from the sender, just follow these simple steps to block all incoming messages from that particular number:

Now, if you still want to read these messages, you need to navigate to the Blocked folder in the app. However, unlike the Personal, Deals and Promotions folders, the Blocked folder does not appear on the homepage. So you need to follow these steps to access all blocked messages:

Step 1: Tap the three-dot menu icon in the upper-right corner of the app’s home page.

Blocking messages from any contact is just one of many things the app can do. And if you’re just getting started with the app, here are some other great tips that will help you get the most out of it.

Mute specific contact

The app allows you to completely block messages from a specific contact and you can also mute them. That’s useful when you want to stop receiving notifications for messages from a contact, but still want the message to go to one of the main inboxes.

To unmute the sender, touch and hold the string again. Then tap the same menu icon and select Unmute Sender from the drop-down menu. The mute icon will then disappear from that theme. Pretty simple, right?

Create a reminder

Another cool thing about the app is that it automatically sets reminders for upcoming events, pending invoices, etc. by reading the content of incoming messages. These reminders will then show up in the Reminders tab on the app, which also allows you to set custom reminders.

Then tap the three-dot menu icon and select the Add reminder option from the drop-down menu. The rest of the process remains the same. However, the relevant SMS was attached to the reminder in this case.

Automatically delete messages

If you want your inbox to be completely tidy, you can set up an automatic deletion schedule to delete older messages. To do so, tap the three-dot menu icon on the app’s home screen and go to Settings from the following menu.

Organize your inbox

Since its launch, the SMS Organizer app has been a fan favorite. It’s one of the few apps that’s always on my phone, no matter what. Unfortunately, the app has been restricted to the Indian region for a long time. Earlier this month, the app finally reached other regions, including the US, UK and Australia, allowing more users to enjoy the benefits of an organized inbox.
