The iPhone’s Slow Motion and Time Lapse cameras have made video recording more fun than ever. The way we can easily speed up the video or make it slow motion is amazing. But the area that the native camera app misses is that video can only be time lapse or slow motion. There is no way a user can get both effects on a single video before sharing it on their social networks.

But while the feature may not be available on stock iOS, there is, of course, an app for that. Tempo for iOS is a brand new video editor on the App Store that can speed up and slow down parts of a video with a single tap. So before we check out how the app works, let’s see what you can do with your videos using the app.
Pace for iOS
If you want effects like this in your videos, go to the App Store and download Tempo Video Editor. The app is free to download and install and it works great even with iPhone 5. Once you install and launch the app, it will give you the option to import an existing video or you have can press camera button to record video now.
Advice: I would recommend you to record a video on the built-in camera app first, then edit it with Tempo, as there are cases where the app crashes and you may lose the entire video if the app problem while recording.
After you select the video, the app will give you the option to choose the audio. The sound can be from your media library, or you can choose some presets from the app itself. The reason why you want to choose audio is because reducing the speed and acceleration of the video will adjust the sound, and it can sound like a Chip ‘n Dale cartoon.
Video editor gives you 4 options beyond normal speed. Fastest is 8X speed, Fast is 4X and Slow and Slowest is 3/4 and 1/2 times respectively. So if you want to slow down or speed up the video, there is only one marker and the whole video from that marker to the end will be slowed down or sped up. If you only want to mark part of a video as slow or fast, you need to select Normal speed for the rest of the video. If this seems confusing, try the application and then everything will make sense.
Once you’ve finished the video, you can save it to your Camera roll or upload it to Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, and other similar services. However, videos that you save with the app as a free user will have a small thumbnail overlayed on them. To get the video without watermark, you will have to buy the pro version for $4.99.
