5 Addictive First Person Shooter (FPS) games for iOS

Whether it’s computer or console, FPS or First Person Shooter has always been my favorite game genre, second after RPGs. I love the thrill of using skillful weapons and equipment to wipe out enemies and win the battle. Sure, the days when we used the mouse or the controller to move the scope and aim at the enemy. Things have now changed to accelerometers and on-screen touch controls.

Therefore, to bring the same thrill and excitement to your iPhone and iPad, here are my top recommendations for FPS games that you should try. Let’s look at them.

1. Modern Combat 5: Blackout (Free)

Modern Combat 5: Blackout is the latest addition to the Modern Combat series, but unlike its predecessors, this one is free to install and play. Modern Combat 5 can be played in single player mission mode and has great graphics with a good story. But the real action of the game lies in the multiplayer mode.

In multiplayer mode, you can create a team with your friends and choose your player type. You can choose anyone from Assault, Heavy, Recon, Sniper or Support. You gain experience with your team to gain new items and skill sets.

Modern Combat 5 2

The only problem is that the game is free so there are certain restrictions and you cannot play the game continuously unless you pay for it. But overall, a perfect FPS multiplayer game to play with your friends

2. Sniper 3D Assassin: Shoot to Kill (Free)

If you just love sniping and want an easy game to play where you can just sit, relax and snipe some villains, then Sniper 3D Assassin is the ideal game for you. Do not run around in the alley, run for cover. You will be assigned a contract to kill individuals.

There are hundreds of missions you can play and as you level up you can buy new rifles and upgrade your existing ones. Following the trend of all new games, you have coins and diamonds to collect during missions and use it to upgrade your guns. The game comes with energy bars and each game requires several energy bars. Depending on your mission and level, you can play a few games at a time and wait for the bar to fill up again. You have an optional in-app purchase to make things easy, but then it removes the challenge from the game.

Sniper Assassin 3D 3

The graphics are great, but there’s a lot of bloodshed and the headshots are messy. I would not recommend it to anyone under 16.

3. Activate Dead 2 (Free)

Dead Trigger 2 is a typical zombie game and you have to shoot anything that isn’t human. The game will start with easy missions and you will find everything easy because of the self-shooting gameplay. All you need to do is aim at the zombie and the gun will fire automatically. But as you continue the game, you will find yourself surrounded by hungry carnivorous zombies all around you.

Activation death

The game is tough and full of blood, but then you will have engineers and help create new equipment for you to fight the zombies. The chicken bomb is really funny and my personal favorite.

Dead Active 2

You also have online play and tournaments with attractive prizes. Weapons are brutal, but for lightning-hungry zombies it’s necessary. Try the game, it’s free to play but of course with the option of in-app purchases.

4. NOVA 3 – Near Orbital Pioneer Alliance (Paid: $6.99)

If you’re looking for the perfect sci-fi game to play on your iOS, I’m sure you’ll look no further. Nova 3, from the house of Gameloft, is a great FPS game with futuristic gameplay. Honestly, this is the FPS game I played on Android and after completing 10 awesome levels there, I still play it on my iPhone after switching.

NOVA 3 is an action game with a great story. There are many weapons that you will collect during the game including rocket launchers and bazooka guns. You also have some special powers like stuns along with weapons. That’s not all, you can drive cars and heavy mechanical robots to enemy area.

NOVA is a paid app, but you will get offers and discounts from Gameloft from time to time. Don’t forget to follow the offers and see if you get them.

5. Call of Duty: Strike Team (Paid: $6.99)

Call of Duty, also known as COD among gamers, is my favorite FPS game when it comes to computers and consoles. Call of Duty: Strike Team is a combination of first-person shooter and third-person strategy. The developer has tried to capture the best of both worlds and you can choose between them.

This means you can play as an individual and shoot enemies to get in your way, or play as commander and manage your team in the drone’s eye view. You can switch at any time between games, but some missions are limited to only one mode.

4 . Attack Cod Team

The controls are amazing, and you won’t feel like you’re missing anything just because it’s on the touchscreen. Aided Aided is a great addition that makes handheld play easy, but some gamers might consider it cheating. Weapons are like any other COD game and the story line is strong too. The $6.99 price tag might seem a bit overwhelming, but it’s a one-time payment you need to make, and you can play the game for hours with no additional purchases.

Conclusion

These are my 5 favorite FPS games. There are many other games besides these 5, but I recommend starting your journey from one game on the list. If you want to recommend any of your favorite games, don’t forget to comment.
