Yunjin Kim Awards: Born on November 7, 1973, Yunjin Kim, also known as Kim Yun-Jin is a South Korean-American film and theater actress.
She was born in Seoul, South Korea, and immigrated to the United States with her family in early 1984.
She developed a passion for acting at a younger age and has been consistent throughout her career rising through the ranks to become one of the most sought-after actresses.
Kim attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts and also studied drama at the London Academy of Performing Arts. She later earned her BFA degree in drama at Boston University.
After graduating from school, Kim started full-time acting and bagged several minor parts on MTV, in soap opera-style dramas on ABC, and on the off-Broadway stage.
Her breakthrough debut came in the film Shiri, South Korea’s first blockbuster film which became the highest-grossing film in Korean history at the time.
Kim has since then starred in several other films including; Mistresses, Wedding Dress, Ms. Ma, Nemesis, Mother, Heartbeat, The Legend Of Gingko, and Yesterday, to mention a few.
Maxim, an international men’s magazine named her number 98 on its annual Hot 100 List (2006), and in October of that year, she appeared on the cover of Stuff (British Magazine), as well as an inside spread.
Yunjin Kim became a household name following her role as Sun-Hwa Kwon on the American television series Lost which ran for six seasons.
In 2022, Kim starred as Seon Woo-jin in the Korean remake of Money Heist, Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area.
Apart from her career as a film and theater actress, Kimm is also a trained dancer and martial arts fighter
