Willy Kambwala career
Kambwala was born in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and went to France with his family when he was five years old. He began his career with Elan Chevilly Larue and Les Ulis, where he was reared in Les Ulis, Essonne, before enrolling in the Sochaux Academy in 2018.
In July 2020, Kambwala was mentioned as a potential transfer to English teams Manchester United and Liverpool. On the day of the transfer deadline in October 2020, he signed a contract to join Manchester United.
Just a few weeks into his time at Manchester, he was sidelined for eleven months due to injury. He eventually made a comeback in September 2021, participating in an 8–2 victory on the road against Birmingham City’s under-18 squad.
The next month, he signed a professional deal with Manchester United. In a Premier League game against West Ham United in December 2023, Kambwala made his senior debut for United.
Kambwala led France’s under-16 squad as captain. He can represent the Democratic Republic of the Congo as well.
