What Happens When You Uninstall Google Photos App

After you uninstall Google Photos, your device will stop backing up content to the cloud.
On Android, tap and hold the Google Photos app icon, and select Uninstall or Disable.
On iOS, tap and hold the Google Photos app icon, and select Delete.

What Happens When You Uninstall Google Photos

When you uninstall the Google Photos app, your photos/videos will stop backing up to the cloud.
Uninstalling Google Photos does not delete any photos or videos from your device.
You can use the built-in Gallery app, or download one from the Play Store/App Store to view the photos stored on your device.
You can always re-install the Google Photos app, or visit the website to view backed-up photos and videos.

Tap and hold the Google Photos app and tap on Delete. Then, tap on the Delete App icon to uninstall the app.

Open the Settings app, go to Apps, and select Photos from the list. You will either find an option to Uninstall or Disable the app.

Uninstalling the app removes the app from your device. You can install it again from the Play Store.
Disabling the app effectively turns it off without completely uninstalling it. You can go back to the same page and Enable the app.

If you intend to stop Google Photos from backing up your photos – you can turn off the backup in Settings instead of uninstalling the app.

Open Google Photos, and tap on your profile icon at the top right corner. Tap on Your Google Photos Settings, select Backup, and Turn it Off.
