Transmute is a desktop bookmark transfer tool that provides a quick and simple way to transfer bookmarks from one browser to another. Its sleek interface makes it easy to use.
You can use this software to import and export all your bookmarks without actually accessing the browser.
After opening the app, you will see two drop-down options namely Source and Target.
The source is for the browser to which you want to export all bookmarks and the destination is the browser to which you intend to transfer them. There are a total of 13 browsers available in the drop-down menu. Select the appropriate browsers and then click the Start button.
Two other options are also available
- Collection Override (Remove duplicate bookmark links if any).
- Backup Collection (Make a backup copy of your bookmarks before you start transferring).
In the next step, all bookmarks from one browser will be exported to another. As you can see in the image above, I exported bookmarks from Chrome to Firefox. This tool supports almost all major browsers available.
Transmute also has a Pro version with some extra features like bookmarking web service (like delicious), advanced controls, removing dead bookmarks, custom sorting, and command line support.
Note: Transmute needs the Microsoft .Net framework to run.
