Everyone has different preferences. The same is true for color. While some prefer bright colors, others prefer bold and bright colors. Luckily, even apps allow you to change their colors. We are talking about Google Chrome. In this post, we will tell you four ways to change Chrome’s color.

So let’s see different methods to change Chrome color.
1. Apply a different theme
Before that, one had to resort to the help of third-party themes to change the colors of Google Chrome. However, a few months ago, Google introduced its own set of themes for Chrome. So you should change the theme to one of the official themes to fix the problem in your current theme or simply change the background color. You can even try other third-party themes.
To change the Chrome theme, follow these steps:
Step 1: Launch Chrome and visit the Themes page on the Chrome store.
Step 2: You’ll find a variety of themes listed there, starting with the Chrome theme series. Click the theme that you want to apply.
Step 3: Click Add to Chrome for the theme you want to use. That’s it. You will have a new look for your Chrome.

2. Switch back to the original Chrome Theme
Sometimes there is a problem with your current theme, so instead of changing it to some other theme, you should try resetting it back to the default value. You can also use this method to revert back to Chrome’s original theme.
Here’s how to do it.
Step 1: In Chrome, tap the three-dot icon at the top and select Settings. Also, open chrome://settings/.
Step 2: Scroll down to the Appearance section. You will find the Themes option. Click Reset to Defaults to switch back to the original Chrome theme.
3. Change the system theme
On both macOS and Windows, Chrome’s colors also change when you change the system theme. So you should try this method to change the color or revert to the original color.
Change Chrome theme on Windows
Step 1: Go to System Settings from the Start Menu.
Step 2: Click Personalize.
Step 3: Click on Colors.
Step 4: This is the fun part. You need to choose a theme style from the drop-down box under Choose your color. You have three options — Light, Dark, and Custom. If you choose the former, all supported apps and the Windows interface will be lightly themed. Similarly, choosing Dark will apply black to both.
In case you only want to change the color for supported apps like Chrome and keep the Windows color or vice versa, choose the Custom option. Once selected, two new drop-down boxes will appear. Choose your theme preferences under “Choose your default app mode” to apply it to Chrome and other supported apps.

Step 1: Click on the Apple menu at the top and select System Preferences from there.
Step 2: Click on General.

4. Turn off High Contrast
If you find the font and theme colors on Chrome don’t match, you should try disabling high-contrast mode. To do so on a Windows PC, follow these steps:
Step 1: Open Settings on your PC and click Ease of Access.
Step 2: Click High Contrast from the left sidebar. Then, turn off the switch next to “Enable High Contrast”.

The theme will not apply color changes to web pages. They are limited to tabs, bookmarks bar, and similar areas.
