PTR Release date, Dragonriding, Emerald Dream & more

World of Warcraft Patch 10.2 Guardians of the Dream is on the horizon, and with it comes a whole host of new content. This will see players going to The Emerald Dream, but not as they know it. This is a huge turning point within the game’s story and will see Fyrakk and Vyranoth facing off against each other.

Here is all the content you can expect to see within the latest patch, so if you want to know more, make sure you keep reading.

World of Warcraft patch 10.2 notes: The Emerald Dream

The Emerald Dream is the newest area that the players will be taken to in World of Warcraft, and it will be a sight to behold. It will be reminiscent of what players saw with the lush grounds in Ardenweald, as well as hints of Teldrassil’s magic. This area will be the size of Ohn’aran Plains, so it will give players plenty of space to explore and plenty of content to complete.

There will be new creatures to meet and new races to interact with, such as Dryads and Dream Wardens, which will also be the new renown track for Amirdrassil. They will have plenty of rewards from mounts to pets, to transmogs, so make sure to keep your eye out for any quests the Dream Wardens have to give you!

The Emerald Dream will be home to most of the Campaign chapters, where players will try to stop Fyrakk from taking the power of Amirdrassil as the new world tree continues to bloom. There will be a new public objective called the Superbloom event. Players will assist a treant called Sprucecrown and help bloom flowers across the land. Players will also have a new World Boss to take on called Aurostor the Hibernating.

Dragonriding updates in WoW patch 10.2

Not only will there be a new area, but there will be new Dragonriding Glyphs to collect, as well as new Dragonriding traits to learn. Not only this but there will also be a brand new Faerie Dragon mount for players to collect.

World of Warcraft is branching out and is adding a Fire Owl mount to the game that can be obtained by players after completing the Mythic encounter with Fyrakk. This particular mount is special as it will be the first non-dragon mount to have dynamic flight.

Meanwhile, in the WoW Dragon Isles

There will be other tasks for players to carry out in the Dragon Isles, once your duties are complete in Amirdrassil. For example, there will be more quests to complete in the Tyr Reforged questline, which will finally conclude the questline.

Wrathion and Vyranoth will take us on a journey to recruit the aid of other dragonflights, specifically those from Outland and Stormheim.

For those who are interested in raiding, players can expect to see a new nine-boss raid coming to the expansion. This raid will be called Amirdrassil, The Dream’s Hope. You will have to come up against Fyrakk, his allies and lieutenants as he aims to take Amirdrassil’s power for himself. It is up to you to help save Amirdrassil and allow it to continue to take root.

PvP is gaining a temporary brawl, named Battleground Blitz, where players will be allowed to solo-queue for rated battlegrounds. This is a temporary feature for now.

There is much, much more coming to World of Warcraft patch 10.2, including new mounts and pets, and of course, who can forget new gear sets?

Those who like to rise to the challenge of Keystone Master will be pleased to know that the mount for this season is known as the Blossoming Dreamstag.

If you have access to the PTR, you can access this content on September 7, 10 AM PDT/6 PM BST.
