Jake is the couple’s second child, born after Ariel. He was only one-and-a-half years old when the family discovered they were HIV positive. Despite the challenges, Jake remained healthy as of 2007, and he continued to maintain a relationship with his father and others in the family. Following his first wife Elizabeth’s death in 1994, Paul Michael Glaser later married Tracy Barone. They had a daughter named Zoe during their marriage.
Glaser’s educational journey took him from Buckingham Browne & Nichols School to the Cambridge School of Weston, where he completed high school in 1961. He later attended Tulane University, majoring in theater and English with a minor in architecture, and graduated in 1966. Following the series, Glaser continued to make notable contributions to both television and film, directing productions such as “The Running Man” (1987) and “The Cutting Edge” (1992).
His diverse career included directing episodes for TV series like “Miami Vice,” “Robbery Homicide Division,” and “Judging Amy.” Glaser returned to the big screen in 2003 in “Something’s Gotta Give” and made a cameo in the 2004 film adaptation of “Starsky & Hutch.” Additionally, he directed the children’s film “Kazaam,” starring Shaquille O’Neal, and guest-starred in an episode of CBS’s “The Mentalist” in 2009.
From 2013 to 2019, Glaser portrayed Alan in multiple episodes of the TV series “Ray Donovan.” In a 2018 interview, he expressed openness to new experiences in the entertainment industry, emphasizing the joy he finds in the unpredictability of filmmaking and acting. Simultaneously, Glaser showcased his artistic talents in his first American solo exhibition, titled “Act 111,” marking the third phase of his career—acting, directing, and now, painting and digital illustration.
