When he was 6 years old, Connecticut-based quarter-midget racer Logano started his racing career. He won the Jr. Stock Car Division of the Eastern Grand National Championship for the first time in 1997. In 1998, he won the Jr. Honda Division Championship, and in the first few months of 1999, he won the Lt. Mod.
Champion division. Later in 1999, Logano triumphed in the Sr. Stock, Lt. Mod, and Lt. B divisions, taking home three New England Regional Championships. He participated in several years of pavement Late Model racing.
When Logano was 15 years old, veteran Nextel Cup Series driver Mark Martin, who was racing for Jack Roush (Roush Fenway Racing), referred to Logano as “the real deal”.
