How to Use Fleksy Invisible Android Keyboard For Touch Typing

Thumb tap to type

Coming from a technical background, I know how important it is to be able to type on a cell phone without even looking at it (I know, I know.. you don’t say). Back in our college days, we all had T9 keyboards on our phones, making it easier to text without looking at our phones. But now with the advent of touchscreen smartphones, without a physical keyboard, I miss the days of typing while typing a text message.

Typing on a touchscreen phone is always a challenge for users even when they can see the entire keyboard on the screen. The developers have come up with many innovative on-screen keyboards to make it easy for users to access, and we’ve discussed some good ones in the past. But today I’m happy to talk about a brand new virtual keyboard for Android that you can tap to type on your device without looking at the keyboard (user must have some basic knowledge). qwerty keyboard layout version).

About Fleksy

To get started, download and install the latest version of the Fleksy keyboard for Android on your device and launch the app. Just like any other keyboard app, Fleksy will ask you to enable it as one of the input methods on your Android, then choose it as the default input method. The application will instruct the user how to do these things. As soon as you choose Fleksy as your default keyboard, you will be given a brief introduction to how to use the keyboard and its improved features to make typing faster.

The first thing you’ll notice in Fleksy is that the keyboard offers a larger typing area with swipe gesture control. To delete a word, all you need to do is swipe left on the keyboard. Swipe right to add more space. But the most admirable thing about this keyboard is the autocorrect feature that goes beyond the default Android keyboard. However, if the predictive text is incorrect on the first try, the user can simply swipe up to find a hint or swipe down to keep the current word.

Now, to touch typing, users just need to swipe the keyboard down with two fingers. The first time you do this, the keyboard will hide the spacebar and it will disappear completely if you do it again (option enabled from Advanced settings). The developers say that the main idea behind the innovation is that users can see the screen with content rather than seeing the keyboard. In stealth mode, you’ll see the entire content screen with a thin gray line in the center of the screen. The area below the line will act as a keyboard, but the traditional keys will not be visible.

Things to work on

This app is still in beta and there is a good chance for improvement in future updates. The invisible keyboard certainly looks cool, but it can’t currently be used in messaging apps, such as WhatsApp. There is currently no way to access the submit button located under the keyboard in stealth mode. Also, the prediction is only as good as you stick to the words in the dictionary. There is an option to manually add words to the dictionary but I prefer an import wizard that can import existing custom dictionaries from the previous keyboard I’m using or at least the app should be able to learn from my messages and emails like Swift keyboard.

Conclusion

Currently, the keyboard supports Spanish, German, Italian, French, and Dutch in addition to English. I suggest you go ahead and download the keyboard and see for yourself. While the first few days can be really tough with swipe gestures, you’ll love it once you get the hang of it. Do share your rating in the comments.
