Note: While this will successfully transfer your content, some Google Keep-specific formats won’t affect the transfer. For example, if you changed the background color of the note, the resulting Google Docs will still have a plain white background.
Transfer Notes on the Web
To transfer your notes from Google Keep to Google Docs on the web, first visit the Google Keep website. Create a new note by clicking Add notes or hover over an existing note you have below.
Menu options appear when you hover over a note. Click on the three vertical dots and here you will find Copy to Google Docs. Click here.
The note will be copied quickly, and then at the bottom of the screen you’ll see a message saying it was copied successfully. To open it in Google Docs, click Open.
For sure, you will find that the note taking is now in your Google Docs library with a higher level of professionalism and the customization tools are also said to be good.
Transfer notes on mobile devices
To transfer notes from Google Keep to Google Docs on your smartphone, download the Google Keep app for iOS (finally available) or Android. The Google Docs app is not needed. Sign in with your Google account to display your notes.
Select the note you want to copy to Google Docs, and in the top right, tap the three vertical dots. The menu option may not appear immediately, but if you scroll down to the end you will see Copy to Google Docs.
Tap that and wait a few seconds. Then tap Open to view documents.
Note: If you have the Google Docs app, it will open in it, otherwise it will just open in a browser window. The site will ask you if you want to download the Docs for the future app, which is needed to make any edits. This is something to consider.
