How to Take a Full Page Screenshot on Microsoft Edge

It has a built-in option that allows you to take full page screenshots. Furthermore, there are three other ways to do it and we want to cover all of them in this article. Let’s get started.

1. Use the option available on Microsoft Edge to capture the entire page

In early 2021, Microsoft released an update to Edge that added full-page screenshots. Here’s how you can use it. However, if you don’t find this feature, make sure you update to the latest version of Microsoft Edge.

Step 1: Open the webpage on Edge for which you want to take a full-size screenshot. Scroll down to check if the web page has loaded correctly.

Step 2: Now, right click anywhere and select Web Capture option.

Tip: You can use the keyboard shortcut ctrl + shift + S to bring up the web page capture tool.

Step 3: Select ‘Snap full page’.

Step 4: The entire page will be captured as a screenshot. You will have an option to save, share or copy the image to the clipboard.

2. Use Developer Tools to take full page screenshots without extension

Here is another way to capture entire page as screenshot on Microsoft Edge without extension. This may seem intimidating when you’re just starting out, but trust us – using the developer tools menu is very easy to take long screenshots on Microsoft Edge. Here’s how to do it.

Step 1: Open the website you want to screenshot on Edge and click on the three-dot icon in the top right corner.

Step 2: Click More Tools > Developer Tools.

Step 3: Click the three dots icon on the developer tools menu toolbar and select Run command.

Step 4: Enter Screenshots next to Run > to find the command.

Step 5: Click ‘Take full size screenshot’.

That’s it – a full-size screenshot will be taken and saved in your system’s default downloads folder.

3. Use a third-party extension on Edge to take long screenshots

GoFullPage is an extension that allows you to take full-page screenshots on Microsoft Edge with a single click. It has excellent overall ratings and is reliable to use. Here’s how to install and use the extension.

Step 1: Visit the extension page on the Google Chrome web store. (Edge supports extensions from the Chrome web store)

Step 3: Now, open the Extensions menu and click on GoFullPage when you are ready to take a screenshot of the web page.

Step 4: This will take a screenshot of the full page on Microsoft Edge and you can download it as a PDF or an image.

4. Save entire web pages as PDF

Well, you could argue that it doesn’t take screenshots and we agree that it doesn’t. However, the purpose of a screenshot is basically to capture the details of what is being shown to you on your screen. Therefore, saving web pages as PDF on Microsoft’s Edge browser does the same thing. Although, the default format will be PDF and not any image format.

Step 1: Open your favorite website on Edge and click on the three dots icon in the top right corner.

Step 2: Click Print.

Step 4: Scroll down to click More Settings.

Step 5: Adjust the scale so that the text looks incomplete. Alternatively, you can also check the box for background graphics to make sure all elements are included in your PDF.

Step 6: Finally, click Save.
