Hamachi is a powerful application, but built for the average user. However, the problem still seems to be pervasive, considering how many people are sharing their experiences on social media. Some cannot create servers and invite others while others cannot join Minecraft servers created by their friends.

1. Hamachi login details
While this seems understandable, there have been cases of Minecraft players sharing wrong user ID and password details with their friends. What happens is that sometimes, server creators use special characters for security, and others try to type these characters instead of copying them.
That can lead to incorrect login information which leads to an error. So make sure you’ve shared the correct credentials, and if you’re the one trying to log in, don’t enter it. Just copy and paste it to get rid of any errors.
2. No more than 5 computers
If you’re using Hamachi to create a server, there’s a limit to how many players can join you. The number is set at 5 for the free version, and there’s not much you can do about it. Now you can see the IPv4 address. Copy it instead of typing it by hand. now find server.properties file inside the folder where you installed Minecraft and open it. You will enter the copied IPv4 address after the ‘server-ip=’ line without any spaces.
Save it as a server property (remove the dot) and try again.
5. Firewall
When you install Minecraft, there is a file called ‘jawaw.exe’ that you need to allow in the Windows Firewall if you have it enabled. To do so, open Control Panel by searching for it in the Start Menu and searching for firewall. Click Allow apps through Windows Firewall.
You will then click Change settings and look for the function.exe entry. If there are more than two items, you will allow them all in both Public and Private columns.
If you are using anti-virus software that is managing your Firewall (in my case Kaspersky), you will have to enable it in the corresponding anti-virus application. Make sure that Minecraft is not blocked either.
Just to be sure, you can disable Firewall and any anti-virus or malware applications you have installed and try again. If it still doesn’t work, there may be another problem.
6. No Mods
A lot of players use Mods in Minecraft to change how they look, play, or how they interact with the world inside the game. While that’s great and everything, it can cause problems. Some users have reported that using the Mod causes a LAN failure to work.
Try connecting and playing without Mods and see if you can solve the Hamachi not working with Minecraft error.
7. Set Network as Private
When you create a new network with Hamachi, you need to make it Private instead of Public in the WiFi settings. Press Windows key + I to open Settings and click Network & Internet.
Under WiFi, click Manage known networks.
Select your network and click Properties.
Set the network as Private here instead of Public.
