How to Sync Sessions in Chrome, Firefox Across Devices

Today, cloud services make our lives so easy. We can save our files in the cloud and then access them on any of our devices or even public computers to continue our work right where we left off. . These services aren’t just limited to files – people who use online sync services in their browsers know what I’m talking about. Chrome, Firefox or any other modern browser allows users to synchronize their bookmarks, history and even passwords with all connected devices, making our lives easy. than.

Your browser and history are available on any of your connected devices so you can manually open the tabs you need to work on. But why reopen all sessions manually? You as a reader of Guiding Tech, you can do better. Today we are going to test a service called TabCloud which syncs your entire browser session directly (all open tabs) so you can open it the same way on any of your connected devices.

Why now? I stumbled upon the idea when I started using my Google Chromebook to drive my work. I was looking for a way to have all my tabs and tasks in sync, and that’s when I found TabCloud.

Let’s see how we can use the service.

Use TabCloud to sync open browser tabs

The TabCloud app is available for Chrome, Firefox, Android. I’ll be using Chrome’s app for the initial setup, but you’re free to choose your own platform. After you install the app from the Web Store and click the TabCloud icon for the first time, it will ask you to sign in with your Google account. The app will not request any special permissions from your account. It just uses it to remember what you are syncing with its server.

Once the authentication is complete, you can tap the TabCloud icon on your browser and select the tabs you want to save. If you have multiple windows open, you’ll see them as separate sessions. Also, there will be some tabs from your browser history the last time you visited. Now all you need to do is give these open sessions a name and click the save button.

Save tab

That’s it! You can now download and sign in to the app on another browser or Android app and open all the tabs in a new window. You can choose to open tabs in the same window from TabCloud settings. The Android app can be used to open these sessions on any installed browser. If your sessions are not saved on the new browser, you may have to sign in to websites. But if you’re working on your personal device that won’t be a problem.

Conclusion

So that’s how you can use TabCloud to sync your tabs across devices easily. There’s no limit to how many sessions you can save with TabCloud, at least I don’t know. But don’t forget to delete sessions after you have successfully opened them on another device.
