If you’re a social media geek, you’ve probably seen a lot of viral videos of people singing a cappella harmonies lately. (Acappella is the term for singing without instruments or any background music, and harmony is multiple layers of notes that complement each other.) These videos often appear as a network of videos with each video generates its own sound to create a harmonized sound. Cool, right?

All video and audio was made using a free iOS app called Acapella. It allows you to choose a recording layout based on how many harmonies you want to add to the song, then you record individual videos while singing and stitch them together. Use Acapella to share your talents
Once you’ve downloaded the Acapella app, you’re free to browse through some of the other capella videos that users have created and submitted publicly, but since you’re reading this I assumed you’d like to learn how to share. videos by yourself.
The first thing you should do in Acapella is choose a layout for your video. You should plan ahead of the song you want to sing and how many different components you want the song to have: melodious vocals, harmony classes, simulated or performance instruments, beatboxes, etc. layout based on that.
Clap New video recording at the bottom of the app. You can have up to nine content tiles in a video, or just one. You can also choose between 1:1 (square), 16:9, and 4:5 aspect ratios. On the next screen, choose the length of your video to be at least 6 seconds or 10 minutes long.
Note: The 3-minute and 10-minute duration must be unlocked through a separate in-app purchase of $1.99 or $9.99 respectively.
Choosing a duration is difficult because Acapella will force you to record the entire duration, so you won’t be able to finish early and end the video. In addition, you must time your music just right to fit the chosen timeframe.
Now that you’ve framed your video, it’s time to start recording. Tap any gray square to start recording the video you’ll place there. Note at the bottom of the toolbar can help enhance the video first.
Clap Play To start playing something you’ve recorded for a specific location, tap Volume to adjust and improve the volume and balance, tap the . icon filter to apply a different look or touch the icon license on the right to style the watermark to your liking.
Also, when you are recording a video, you have options to edit some song options like tempo and time signature. Alternatively, you can optionally add a song from your iTunes library to play in the background (though that doesn’t meet the app’s capella purpose.)
When you’re done editing and filming, you’ll be able to review the video clip and remove or add it to the collection by tapping the icon Check tick in the top right. Repeat this process for each position in your capella video until they are all filled with song.
From here, just touch Share at the top right. Before you can share it to social networks, Acapella asks you to share it with the public or private Mixcord network. Public will allow other Acapella users to search and view your masterpiece.
