If you have installed the Facebook Messenger app on your Mac or Windows PC, here’s how to share your screen during audio or video calls. Ensure that you are using the updated version of the app on your Mac or Windows PC.
Step 1: Press Command + Spacebar keyboard shortcut to open Spotlight Search, type Messenger, and press Return.
Step 2: Select the contact with whom you want to share your screen.
Step 3: Click the Call icon at the top-right corner of the chat window, depending on whether you want to start an audio or video call.
Step 4: Click the Screen Share icon at the bottom.
Step 5: Click on Open System Settings.
Step 6: Click the toggle next to Messenger to enable screen recording.
Step 7: Authenticate your choice using the password of Touch ID.
Step 8: Click on Quit and Reopen.
Step 9: After that, start the call again in Facebook Messenger and click on Screen Share at the bottom.
Step 10: Click on Share again after selecting the window on your Mac that you want to share.
The call window will get minimized so that you can share your screen.
Stop Screen Sharing in Facebook Messenger on Mac
Step 1: While on the call, hover your mouse pointer over the minimized window and click the Plus icon.
Step 2: Click on Stop Screen Sharing.
Step 1: Click the Start icon on Windows 11, type Facebook Messenger, and press Enter.
Step 2: Click on Start Call on the left side.
Step 3: Click on Start Call.
Step 4: Enter your friend’s name and click on Join Call.
Step 5: Click on Share Screen at the bottom once the call starts.
Step 6: Click on Share to share your screen.
You can also share audio if you are watching a video together.
To stop the screen recording, click on the Stop Recording icon at the bottom.
Here’s how to use screen sharing on Messenger on your iPhone or Android. Ensure that your phone runs the latest Facebook Messenger app version. The steps to share screen remain the same on iPhone and Android.
Step 1: Open Facebook Messenger on your Android or iPhone.
Step 2: Select a chat with whom you want to share your phone screen.
Step 3: Tap the Call icon at the top-right corner to start the call.
Step 4: Tap on the Media icon at the bottom when the call begins.
Step 5: Tap on Share Screen.
Step 6: Tap on Screen Sharing.
Step 6: On iPhone, tap on Start Broadcast to share your screen. On Android, tap on Start Now to share your screen.
After the screen sharing begins, you can tap the Share Screen icon again and select Stop Sharing to stop the recording.
How To Play Games in Facebook Messenger
You also have the option to play games while being on call with friends on the Facebook Messenger app. Here’s how to do it on your Android or iPhone.
Step 1: Open Facebook Messenger on Android or iPhone.
Step 2: Select your contact and start a call.
Step 3: Tap on the Media icon at the bottom.
Step 4: Select the Play icon at the bottom.
