The Aura Carver is one of the popular digital picture frames and comes with a high-resolution display, touchscreen controls, and AI-powered settings. It supports popular photo sharing and storage apps like Google Photos and iCloud Photos. Plus, it connects to your home Wi-Fi and lets you upload photos from your phone. All these features make it a great gift choice during the holidays. So, if you’ve received an Aura Carver as a gift (or brought one yourself), here’s how to set up an Aura Carver digital photo frame.
The good thing about this process is that it’s easy and straightforward. Just make sure a strong Wi-Fi network is near the digital photo frame.
Currently, Aura gives us two options. You can order Aura Carver as your own or for family and friends. As noted earlier, both setup processes are straightforward and supported by the companion app—Aura Frames.

How to set up your Aura Carver digital photo frame
Step 1: On the Aura Frames app, create an account with your preferred email ID. You will also need to add other details such as phone number and name.
Once you’ve verified your email ID, you can add your profile picture.
Once everything is done, press the Next button.
Step 2: Select the It’s for me option to begin the setup process.
Step 3: Next, plug the power cable into the Aura Carver and you will see the loading screen. It will take a minute or two to load.
In our case, it took about two minutes to see the welcome screen. It will then display a unique number for pairing purposes.
In the early stages, Bluetooth acts as a bridge between your phone and the frame until you connect it to your home Wi-Fi.
Therefore, you will be prompted to do so. Click Allow to start the pairing process
Step 4: Enter the unique number on your phone and press the Next button.

Step 5: Connect to your home Wi-Fi network. If you’re using an iPhone, you don’t need to enter the Wi-Fi password.
Connecting the Aura Carver to your home Wi-Fi will take some time. In our case it took us about 4-5 minutes. Then the frame is ready. Next, add the photos.
You can slide your finger on the touch bar at the top to cycle through different photos.
How to set up Aura Carver digital photo frames for guests
Setting up a guest account in Aura Carver is akin to creating your own. The best part is that the app will guide you through most of the steps.
Step 1: Open the Aura Frame app and create an account. Like above, you’ll need to enter your name, email ID, and optional profile picture.
Your profile picture helps you to distinguish yourself from other members. You can share the Aura Carver frame among family members. Click Next.
Step 2: Select ‘Others’ from the list of options.
Next are the connection options. In our case, we went ahead with the ‘Plug in to Frame’ option because we wanted a proper setup before donating it.
Step 3: Connect the frame to the power source. It will take a few minutes to load. Once done, it will display a 4 digit number.
On your phone, tap OK for the Bluetooth prompt. Bluetooth allows the Aura Carver digital chassis to connect to your phone.
Step 4: Enter the four digit code on your phone as shown below and press the Connect button.
Once the connection is established, you can name the frame. The good thing is that the recipient can always rename it later.
You can then add a message, add other family members, add a welcome photo, or have a temporary Wi-Fi connection.
Step 5: Click on Gift Messages & Photos to add messages and photos, save settings.
Note that you cannot see the photo on the frame until you connect it to Wi-Fi.
The Aura Frame app then gives you several connection options to choose from. And depending on the current situation, you can take the necessary steps. For example, if you want to see how the photo looks in the frame, you can temporarily connect to your home Wi-Fi.
Or, you can enter the Wi-Fi password if you know it. Now, all you have to do is pack the digital frame and send it off.
When the recipient connects the frame to power and Wi-Fi, they see the message and photo.
How to turn off collage settings in Aura Carver
Aura Carver has a built-in algorithm that properly renders the image in the right pane. For example, if you have two identical vertical images, Carver will group them into a single frame. Second, it can also remove duplicates from the mix, even if you uploaded them by mistake.
Smart Suggestions is enabled by default. But you can choose to turn it off. This option is available as soon as you set up the digital frame. However, if you want to come back later, you can find it in Settings.
To access it, tap the Cog icon in the upper-right corner of the Aura Frame app. Next, tap Collage and turn it off.
How to change the show time in Aura Carver
Yes, you can also play with slide show time. By default, the frame displays each photo for 10 minutes. Thankfully, you can change it through settings.
To do so, go to Settings and tap the Time option. Choose from the long list of available options. Well, you can thank me later!
