How to Save and Back Up Notifications in Android

We are always in situations where we receive too many notifications and cannot handle them. Also, it’s annoying to see the notification drawer filled with notifications. Opening them one by one is also a tedious job. So what could be the solution for such situations?

The best solution is to save these messages and open them later. Even better is to have a backup of them and access them from multiple devices. Right? So let’s see how you can accomplish this. I have 2 apps here that will help you with this task. Let’s dig inside.

How to save notifications on Android for later use

We previously showed you how to view notification history. But, there you can just watch them. You can’t perform tasks like adding favorites, muting notifications for specific apps, and sharing those notifications. Now you can with an app called NotiBox.

1. NotiBox – Notification mailbox

Notibox keeps a log of all your notifications and acts like an inbox. Like email widgets, you can favorite and share notifications with other apps.

After installing the app, you’ll need to grant notification access to the app. After you grant notification access, the app will show you a notification that the app is ready to track notifications. Now, as soon as you receive notifications, it will add them to its own notification drawer, as shown in the screenshot below.

You can swipe right or left to clear the notification. Tapping the notification will take you to the specific app. You also have options to share notifications and favorite them. Favorite notifications added Important notification available in menu options.

Next, check out the settings menu. Here you have application options where you can set which apps Notibox will save logs. The Notibox utility is available. You can set the backup interval of the notifications. (Messages are stored locally. No servers are involved here.)

You can also monitor system messages. Finally, you have the option to clear all notifications to free up the notification drawer.

In app preferences, you can simply tap apps to deselect them.

You also have quick options in the system notification drawer and the lock screen. Only one Do not disturb notification mode off. You can even search for notifications.

One thing I noticed is that the lock screen renders slowly. Other than that, the app works fine.

How to Access Android Notifications on Multiple Devices

2. Notification Backup

Now, if you need to access these notifications on multiple devices then you should use this app called Notification Backup. It stores your notifications on its servers so you can access them from multiple devices. You can access these notices from their website. Let’s see what you get with this app.

Usage is quite simple. You simply create an account on their website and you are good to go. All your notifications will be accessible on their website. One downside here is that you can’t access these notifications from within the app. Notices are only available on the website.

Let’s have a look at the site. Log in to the site and you will receive your notifications. Only a few apps will have their notifications. If you want to choose other apps then you will have to enter Setting and below Backup notifications from apps click the link.

Here, you can choose which apps back up their notifications. Another feature that I would like to point out is application-based notification filtering. above Notification page, there is a Filter a button will show you specific apps to filter.

The biggest downside with this app is that you can only see notifications. You cannot do anything with them. You cannot open or favorite them as you did in the previous application. Only text and notification time are displayed.

Do you want to receive Android notification alerts on your desktop? Then you should try DeskNotifier. Also check out Pushbullet.

What do you think of these apps?

NotiBox offers great features that make it worth using. Notification Backup allows notifications to be accessed on multiple devices. Although, it won’t help if we don’t have access in the app. So what do you think of these apps? How useful is it to you? Are there other apps worth mentioning? Let us know in the comments section.
