How to Remove a LinkedIn Connection

We are usually very happy when it comes to social media. Dunbar’s figure states that there is a certain limit to the number of people with which a person can maintain stable social relationships; normally it’s an average of 150. However, it can be said that this number will be significantly less in the case of LinkedIn’s professional nature.

If you think your personal Dunbar count is significantly less, it’s time to clean up your LinkedIn contact list in the spring. Now, that should be easy, right? Yes, it is but it is not straight forward. The option to delete the connection is a bit difficult to define. Let’s see how it’s done.

Here are simple steps to get rid of unwanted LinkedIn connections. Allow login.

1. Go to the navigation bar at the top and hover over Contacts. Click My Connections.

2. On your connections page, click the Remove connection link in the upper right.

3. To remove one or more people from your connection, select the people with a check mark on their name. Click Remove connection to remove the name from the list.

As the little note explains – deleted people are not notified that they have been removed. So you don’t have to worry about any resentment from that old LinkedIn contact you never spoke to or had a professional relationship with.

Have you looked at your connection list recently?
