How to Quickly Disable or Enable Chrome Extensions

Sometimes we go crazy with downloading and installing browser extensions. I feel Google Chrome offers more convenience when using extensions because one doesn’t have to bother restarting the browser with each extension install.

However, the ease of installing these extensions means that Chrome users tend to try out many of them, and it also means that it is likely that he frequently disables or uninstalls many of them as well. That’s fine but navigating to the Extensions page every time from the options menu can be a bit annoying if you tend to navigate there a lot.

Hidden inside the Chrome Web Store, there are several extensions that help manage other extensions. Try Quick On and Quick Off for quick extension management.

Quick On and Quick Off are two separate extensions (from the same developer) that allow you to quickly disable or enable any Chrome extension without diving into the extensions page, right from the Chrome address bar (or the Address Bar as it is popularly called).

Quick Shutdown works by disabling any extensions as you type disable app name in the browser’s Omnibox.

Quick turn does the opposite as you type activate app name in the browser.

Try it with the extension you installed. For example, you can type turn off LastPass. To re-enable the extension, just type Activate LastPass.

Quickly enable or disable your extensions from the Address Bar which saves a lot of time if you work with a lot of extensions or just want to try them out for fun.
