Instant messaging has become an important part of our lives as we use it to communicate with friends, family, customers and colleagues. One instant messaging platform that has grown in popularity over the past decade is WhatsApp. It gets this boost thanks to many features, such as voice notes.
When WhatsApp launched voice notes, users could only record voice memos. However, WhatsApp has released a feature that allows users to listen to voice notes at an increasing rate over the years. WhatsApp now allows users to preview voice notes before sending them out in the latest update. This feature eliminates the fear of sending awkward messages or having to record voice notes. Here’s how it works on different devices.
Preview WhatsApp Voice Notes on iPhone
WhatsApp’s voice note preview feature has been released on iPhone devices ahead of its release on all platforms in December 2021. Here’s how to access the feature on iPhone:
Step 1: Launch WhatsApp from the iPhone home screen.
Step 2: Open a private chat or a group chat in the app.
Step 3: Long press on the microphone icon next to the chat box and then slide up to interact and lock the hands-free recording feature.
Step 4: Start speaking to record a new voice.
Step 5: Click the Stop button after you finish recording.
Step 6: Click the Play icon. This triangle icon appears when you press the Stop button.
By now, you’ll be able to listen to the recording the same way the suggested recipient would. Note that you can skip to different parts of the message by tapping where you want to listen. You can delete the message after previewing the voice note content or pressing send.
