How to Manage the Location History on Your Google Account

While we can count on our memory to remember important details, things like places visited at a particular time or date are quickly forgotten. Fortunately, you can note down the specifics of important events or places on your phone. Sometimes you don’t even need to do it because the phone will do it for you. Your Google Account maintains a record of your phone’s Location History through Google Maps.

You can track every location you go to through the Location History feature on your Google Account. This way, if you can’t remember your location at a particular time, you can always access it again using Location History. This is how Location History works.

How location history works

Location History is part of your Google Account, and it saves details about the places you go with your mobile device. However, in order to record Location History, the following conditions must be met:

  • Signed in to your Google Account on Android
  • Enable Location History on your Google Account
  • Enable location reporting on your Android

You can then have access to many benefits, from personalized maps and location suggestions to traffic updates.
