How to Insert a Signature in Apple Pages

Apple Pages is a flexible built-in document editor for Mac. You can use this word processor to create documents, books, resumes, posters, etc. That said, when dealing with important documents, it misses out on an important feature – add signature.

How to insert a signature on an Apple page

Apple needs to add a digital signature feature to Pages for your documents. This guide will show you a quick workaround to easily insert a signature into an Apple Page using the Preview app on macOS.

Create Your Digital Signature with Preview on Mac

Before you can insert or add a signature to a document in Apple Pages, you first need to create your digital signature. The Preview app on macOS lets you do that easily.

Step 1: Open the document that needs to be signed in to Apple Pages and take a screenshot of the empty area with the keyboard shortcut CMD+Shift+4.

While we’ll show all three methods below, know that it takes a lot of effort to clearly scan your signature with your Mac’s camera. You should only use this feature if you have one of the newer Macs equipped with a 1080p webcam. Also, make sure you have good ambient light when using this feature.

Similarly, only use the second option if you have both an Apple Pencil and an iPad. Creating your signature with your finger on iPhone and iPad has almost the same results as if you were using a trackpad. Note that this feature will only work if all devices are signed in with the same Apple ID.

Create your signature with the trackpad

Step 1: Click the ‘Click Here to Begin’ button to get started.

Sign your documents in Apple pages easily

While Apple Pages doesn’t have a built-in signature option, you can easily add your signature to any document using the steps above. The best part is that you have to create your signature only once. Then you simply insert it into the Apple Page, whenever required. Then convert your Apple Pages document into a PDF document before sharing to ensure the security of your signature.
