How to Fix Stray LowLevelFatalError

Do you get a “LowLevelFatalError” error when starting a Stray game on Steam?

Here is the full error message, “LowLevelFatalError [File Unknown] [Line:258]”.

Method 1: Verify Stray . game files

1. Turn on steam.
2. Go to your library.
3. Right click on the game Stray.
4. Select “Properties”.
5. Select “Local files”.
6. Click “Verify Game File Integrity…”.

After you have clicked “Verify integrity of game files…”, wait until the process is complete.

Finally, try restarting the Stray game and see if the error message is fixed.

Method 2: Download and extract dxvk (Windows 7) only

1. Go to https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/releases.
2. Download “dxvk-1.10.2.tar.gz”.
3. Extract the file “dxvk-1.10.2.tar.gz”.
4. Open the extracted folder.
5. Open the folder “x64”.
6. Copy all the extension files in the folder.
7. Open Steam and go to your library.
8. Right click on the Stray game and click “Properties”.
9. Click “Local File” > “Browse”.
10. Open “Hk_project” > “Binaries” > “Win64”.
11. Paste all the extension files you copied from step #6.

After you have pasted all the expansion files, try restarting the Stray game.

This time, the game should be able to start without problems.

Please note that this only works for Windows 7 operating systems.

If you are using a newer version of Windows, you cannot use this method.

Method 3: Update your graphics card
