Why does Messenger say “No message”?
Messenger says “No messages” because you haven’t received any messages.
In some cases, you may have accidentally archived your chat after marking your Marketplace item as sold.
Otherwise, Facebook Messenger is not working or there is an error/malfunction on the app.
Messenger has gone through many updates throughout the years.
Some updates have changed the location of the Marketplace chat.
You can access it through “Chat” under “Marketplace”.
For some users, Marketplace chat can be accessed by tapping their profile picture > Marketplace.

To fix the “No messages, new messages will appear here” error on Messenger, try checking your archived chats, allow others on Facebook to message you, or uninstall install and reinstall Messenger.

Method 3: Uninstall and reinstall Messenger

- Open the App Store or Google Play Store.
- Search for Messenger and reinstall it.
- Open Messenger and log in to your Facebook account.
- Check if your Marketplace notifications are there (this should be fixed now).
Note: Reinstalling Messenger will log you out of all accounts (so you’ll have to sign in again), but all your chats will be saved as they are stored in the database of Facebook.
Fix 4: Use the Facebook app instead
- Open the Facebook app.
- Select Marketplace > Profile Icon > Inbox.
- Select “Sell” or “Buy” (depending on the conversation you want to access).
- Open the conversation you want to see.
Note: If you can’t see Marketplace messages on Messenger, you must view them on the Facebook app.
