If you accidentally set the age under 16, you need to contact TikTok to change the date of birth.
You’ll only have full access to TikTok’s features if you’re 18 or older.
Alternatively, you can create a new TikTok account and set your age to 18 or older.
1. Turn off “Restricted Mode”
- Open TikTok and go to your profile.
- Tap the menu icon.
- Select “Settings and Privacy”.
- Tap on “Digital Wellbeing”.
- Select “Restricted Mode”.
- Tap “Off”.
After tapping “Off”, you need to enter the passcode you set.
If someone has turned off restricted mode for you, you’ll need to ask them for a passcode.
Restricted mode limits videos that may not be suitable for some people.
Therefore, if you want to watch all the videos on the “For You” page, you need to turn off restricted mode.
2. Contact TikTok (for help/change your date of birth)

- Tick the statements.
- Submit form.

For example, if you accidentally set your age to 13 but you’re actually 18, you need to explain that.
You can also attach a photo of your ID to prove your age.
After submitting the form, you need to wait a few days for TikTok to respond.
TikTok will contact you via email, so be sure to check your spam/spam folder as well.
