How to farm Quickhack components in Cyberpunk 2077

For players looking to hack their way through Cyberpunk 2077, learning how to effectively farm Quickhack components is vital, as it allows you to use better Quickhacks on the various gangs, law enforcement, and other enemies you’ll find around Night City.

There were a lot of changes in Cyberpunk 2077’s 2.0 patch, so for players familiar with how the game originally was, you may need to relearn some mechanics and systems. Personally, I had to adapt to the new max perk points, as it overhauled how you build a character.

Quickhacking is one of the systems that received changes, so you’ll want a primer on what it takes to farm the components effectively in Cyberpunk 2077.

How to farm Quickhack components in Cyberpunk 2077

There are a few different methods in Cyberpunk 2077 to farm Quickhack components and help build the type of hacking character you want, but the best ways are by datamining Access Points, killing netrunners, and disassembling spare Quickhacks; we’ll cover each one in detail below.

Datamining

If you’re not using something like the Sandevistan in Cyberpunk 2077 and instead are using hacks, you’ll be familiar with the process of data mining Access Points, as it’s introduced early.

Essentially, you can jack into various consoles or screens, which are denoted by a hexagon symbol, and play a minigame where you upload as many number and letter sequences as you can.

One of the sequences will always yield Quickhack components, so it’s worth focusing on that first, before the additional sequences.

Killing netrunners

The classic method of looting enemies also works for farming Quickhack components in Cyberpunk 2077, as enemy netrunners will drop these every time.

Most areas occupied by multiple enemies – such as places you can find on missions and gigs – will have a netrunner enemy to kill. They’ll also make themselves known if they try to hack you, as a reticule on screen will point you directly toward them.

If you typically stealth your way through most encounters, it may be worth seeking out the netrunner anyway and killing them just to secure those extra components.

Disassembling Quickhacks

Another consistent method of getting the components you need is to disassemble the spare Quickhacks you have in your inventory.

If you’ve been playing for several hours and looting containers and enemies consistently, you should have built up a surplus of these you no longer need.

Just look through your inventory, select the Quickhack you no longer desire, and hold the disassemble button shown at the bottom of the screen.

That’s all you need to know when it comes to farming Quickhack components in Cyberpunk 2077, and you should be able to find plenty by following our advice above.
