To help users protect themselves from unknown tracker devices, Google has launched the feature of unknown tracker alerts for Android users. This post will explain its use and show you the steps to enable unknown tracker alerts on your Android phone. Ensure that your smartphone runs the latest Android version.

What Is an Unknown Tracker Alert

Let’s say that someone, intentionally or unintentionally, puts a Bluetooth tracker in your belongings like a handbag. So whenever the tracker device goes away from its owner, you will receive a tracking notification on your Android phone when it spots that tracker near you.

Someone from your friends or family may have unknowingly left his/her Bluetooth tracker with your belongings. You will receive an unknown tracker alert on your Android phone that an unknown tracking device is travelling with you. Do note that you won’t receive any such notification if the owner of that tracker is traveling with you. You can also receive alerts when you borrow someone else’s tracker.
