Screenshots are the best way to share content on your Mac screen. macOS lets you easily take screenshots and share them without jumping through hoops. Take a screenshot on a Mac

To take a screenshot of the entire screen, use the keyboard shortcut Cmd+Shift+3. If you want to capture part of the screen, use the keyboard shortcut Cmd+Shift+4.
You will notice that your cursor has changed to a crosshair. Drag it to the part you want to capture.
To take a screenshot of an application window, use the keyboard shortcut Cmd+Shift+4. Then press the spacebar to turn your cursor into a camera icon and highlight the application window. Press Enter or tap anywhere on the trackpad to take a screenshot.

Step 2: To crop or remove part of the screenshot, click the selection tool. Then select the shape of the selection tool, which is rectangular by default.
Step 3: Hold and drag the cursor to select the screenshot area that you want to crop or delete.
Step 4: Press the keyboard shortcut Cmd + K to keep the cropped area and delete the rest.
Step 5: To delete a selected area, you can use the keyboard shortcut Cmd+Delete or click the Edit menu and select Delete.

Mark up your screenshots using shapes
If you want to draw the viewer’s attention to specific areas of the screenshot, you can use shapes to do so. You can access arrows, squares, circles, and more in Preview.
Step 1: Open the screenshot in the Preview app and click the Markup tool.
Step 2: Click on the Shape tool and you will see a list of shapes that you can use. Now let’s choose a square.
Step 3: The Border Color tool will allow you to add color to the outline of the shape.
Step 4: Click the Shape Style tool to change the shape and width of the shape.
Step 5: You can click and drag the blue dots on the image to resize. Click and drag anywhere else on the shape to reposition it.

Step 1: Open the screenshot in Preview and enable the Markup tool.
Step 2: Click the Text tool to add a text box.

Draw and sketch on screenshots
While drawing and sketching isn’t as intuitive on Mac as editing screenshots on iPhone, you can use these tools to mark up your screenshots.
Step 1: Double-click the screenshot to open it in the Preview app and click the Markup tool.
Step 2: Click the Sketch tool and you can sketch on any part of the screenshot.
Step 3: You can change the color of the outline using the Border Color tool.
Step 4: Similarly, click on the drawing tool to draw on your screenshot.
Step 5: The main difference between drawing and sketching tools is that the sketch tool automatically recognizes a standard shape and converts sketches to that shape.
Resize screenshot
