It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that Facebook has become an integral part of most of our lives and our day can feel incomplete without using Facebook. If you think so too and want to make your Facebook experience a little easier, you can try FB Explorer, a Facebook extension for Windows.
Widgets are simple mini desktop applications that provide useful information right on our desktop wallpaper. One can use these utilities to work with frequently used things like clocks, media players, CPU usage monitors, RSS readers, etc.
With the FB Explorer extension, you can check Facebook notifications, view your friends’ activity, comment on and like items in your news feed, and much more right from the widget.
Install FB Explorer
Since FB Explorer is not a standalone application and is a Windows desktop utility, it is therefore not an executable. To get it up and running, you need to download the FB Explorer utility file and run it. When you run the .gadget file, you will be asked to confirm the installation.
After the utility installs successfully, you will see a blue rectangular box on your screen with the F-Connect button. To authenticate your account and to access the extension, you need to press the button and allow the app to access it via the browser.
Once you’ve authenticated your Facebook account, it’s time to play with your new gadget.
Understanding FB Explorer
Although FB Explorer looks small in size, it is packed with great features. The screenshot below highlights all the important parts of the widget.

Friends activities
You can think of it as your miniature Facebook news feed. It gives you some of the latest status updates made by your friends on their timelines. Not only text, but you can also view photos from the feed right from the widget.

My judgment
I like working with desktop utilities because they are easy to access and have low memory consumption. FB Explorer is one of the very few utilities that meets my expectations. It has everything one needs on Facebook every day. Go ahead, get your gadget today.
