Microsoft offers a lot of great themes for users who are using Windows 7 Home Premium, Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate editions. You can start exploring them right on the official Microsoft Windows 7 theme repository.
The site makes it easy for us to search for topics by categorizing them into different categories. If you are looking for themes like Rio, Kung-Fu-Panda or Captain America, you can choose the movie category.
If you’re not sure what you’re looking for, you can always pick the most popular category and see what others like best.
Now we will see how to download one of them.
Download and install a theme
Once you’ve found the theme of your choice, you can instantly download it to your computer using the download link below the theme’s thumbnail.
Once the download is complete, all you need to do is run the file. Windows will automatically detect the theme file, extract, install and apply it. You will immediately notice a change in wallpaper, window colors and sounds depending on the theme you have installed.
Meanwhile, you can access all your downloaded themes using Windows personalization in the My Themes section.
To apply a theme manually, all you need to do is click on one of them. After I selected the Age of Empires theme pack, my desktop looked exactly like you see below.
To remove a theme from your computer, simply right-click on it and select Remove Theme.
