Another week means another promo in EA FC 24. The next promo is the Thunderstruck promo which will also tie in with Black Friday in-game.This is the first time it has appeared in the game, but luckily we have a good idea of what to expect from this promo.
There have already been plenty of leaks of what this promo is, as well as which players may be releasing too. As always, we can expect plenty of SBCs and objectives along the way too, for even more ways to earn rewards. So let’s dive in.
EA FC 24 Thunderstruck release date
The Thunderstruck promo will begin on Friday, November 24, at 6 PM GMT. We are still unsure on whether this promo will last one week or two, but plenty of players have been leaked so we think it will be on the longer side. The event may begin on the 24th, but leaks are suggesting there will be multiple mini-releases throughout.
How does the Thunderstruck promo work?
The Thunderstruck promo is reactive, with the cards earning boosts and upgrades depending on how their team plays in their upcoming matches. The men’s cards and women’s cards follow a different upgrade patch as shown below:
- Men’s upgrade path
- 1 win in the next 4 games = +1 IF Upgrade
- 2 win in the next 4 games = +2 Regular PlayStyles
- 3 wins in the next 4 games = +1 IF Upgrade
- Women’s upgrade path:
- 1 win in the next 3 games = +1 IF Upgrade
- 2 win in the next 3 games = +2 Regular Playstyles and +1 IF Upgrade
- Icon upgrade patch:
- 1 win in 4 games = +1 Regular PlayStyle
- 3 wins in 4 games = +1 IF Upgrade
I know what you’re thinking, the Icons don’t even play anymore, how will they get upgrades? Luckily they will get upgrades for how well the team that they used to play for performs. So the leaked Gerd Müller will have his boosts dictated by Bayern Munich’s form.

As you can see above, there have been a lot of leaks which is why we think this will be a two-week-long promo. I’m excited for some of these players, and even the lower-rated cards still look useful – it’s just a shame we aren’t getting any more West Ham players this time around.
