Dropbox Folder Sync: Easily Sync Folder Outside My Dropbox

Previously, we discussed Dropbox, an ultimate tool for file backup and data synchronization. After installing this app on your PC, you will get a “My Dropbox” folder in which you can put any file or folder and it will be backed up and synced automatically.

Let’s say you want to back up different folders in different locations on your PC using Dropbox. One solution is to copy and paste each file in the “My Dropbox” folder. But moving folders one by one is a time consuming process.

Dropbox Folder Sync is a Dropbox addon that allows you to sync any folder with Dropbox easily with just a few clicks. And you don’t need to change the location of that folder.

Download the small app from the Dropbox wiki page. Install it on your computer. On the first run, it will ask you for the location of the My Dropbox folder. Click the “Change Settings” button to add your Dropbox folder.

Click the “Sync Folders” button to select the folders you want to sync.

Alternatively, you can right-click on any folder and select “Sync with Dropbox”. Following this procedure, the add-on will move the folder to the My Dropbox folder. You can always access the root folder from the previous location because this add-on creates a symlink to that folder.

Obviously, it won’t work without Dropbox, so install file sync software before using this add-on. It’s free to download and only available to Windows users at the moment.
