Are you a regular player on the stock market? How often do you monitor the rise and fall of certain stocks? If that’s the case then I’m sure you rely on stock stickers or watchlists for updates.
There is a way for Windows users to create a stock tracking widget. We’ve written about it before and you can check it out here. Also, if you own a Windows 8 computer, you might want to read on and explore the potential of its financial applications.
Note: Before you begin, make sure your app is up to date. If not, consider updating it immediately.
Using a financial application, you can manage a list of stock indices that are right for you. It may have all it takes to familiarize yourself with stocks and analyze the markets. Besides, you can pin your favorite ones to the start screen freely.
Steps to add a stock index
First of all, go to the start screen and launch the finance app. Then follow the steps below.
Step 1: Scroll the interface to the right, until you find the Getting Started section. Take the third item from the top.
Alternatively, you can right-click anywhere in the interface to launch the scrolling menu. Knock on watchlist to get the same result.
You can also scroll further right to watchlist and click the box with the + icon.
Step 2: You can now add a source of your choice that you want to update. Start typing the stock ticker symbol until you see a list of suggestions. Choose the most suitable and click Add.
For example, I added one for Google and now it shows up among the others in watchlist (see the first item in the image below).
Next time you want to check the status of your favorite stock, just tap the added box. Do not search around for information. All the details right under your nose.
Pin stocks to start screen
Sometimes it’s nice to have instant information on the start screen, isn’t it? Simply pin your favorite stock to the start screen. It also cuts down on the steps of opening a finance app and then finding the one you need to see right away.
When you are on the details screen of a stock, right click on the page. A menu will appear at the bottom of the screen. Click Pin to get startedgive it a name and click Pin to get started again. That’s it. You are done.
Cool Tip: We recently covered a similar tip on the news app that will help you add your own sources to the news feed.
Conclusion
Indeed, this is one of the best ways to keep up with inventory and the changes it goes through for those carrying around a Windows 8 laptop or tablet. I’m sure you’ll add one. number to the start screen. I suggest you group them under a separate block for better organization.
