Create a Booklet in Word 2013 and Print it the Right Way

Brochures always come in handy, and since creating one in Word 2013 is so easy, why don’t you have a brochure for your event or presentation? In this post we will talk about how to create it but first let’s talk about why you might need them.

What do you need the booklet for?

If you must give a presentation, accompanying a brochure that outlines its outline or providing additional information to attendees can only be a welcome addition. And since it’s so customizable, it can deliver your message in a simpler way.

Now that you’ve discovered that the possibilities are truly endless, create a brochure in Word 2013. The only other thing you’ll need in a few minutes is a printer!

Create your booklet

Step 1: Open a blank document in Word 2013 first, then click Document in the top menu.

Step 2: You will have to prepare your brochure for printing, otherwise it will end up as a simple Office 2013 document. So to do so, click Print.

Step 3: Then click on Settings page. You will find it in the Settings section.

Step 4: This is probably the most important step, as you will be setting up the entire document here. In the window that appears, start by selecting book folding inside page part.

Step 5: Now let’s set Water ditch. The gutter is the space between the part where the document is folded and your actual content. You can experiment with it until you find the best gutter size for your brochures.

Also, choose margin size you want.

Step 6: When all the margins are ok for you, click OK at the bottom.

Step 7: Now you can start creating the actual booklet. You don’t have to worry about which pages go where when you print this booklet, because the good people at Microsoft who created the Office 2013 suite have thought of that for you. So the next step is to simply write the content you want into your brochure.

Of course, you can also paste text if you’ve saved it in another document.

Cool Tip: You can get a quick overview of all the pages in your booklet by holding down controls and using the scroll wheel on your mouse to zoom out until you see them all.

Step 8: Once you have added all the text you want to your booklet, the next step depends on the capabilities of the printer you own. If your printer can print on both sides of the paper, go ahead and print your brochure. You are done!

If it can’t print on both sides – which is the case with most home printers out there – you need to do one more thing. Return to the Print menu and make sure that Manual printing on both sides selected below Setting.

Step 9: Follow the instructions to print your brochure. The result (in case you created a four-page site) will look like in the image below.
