UIF (Universal Image Format) is a format used to compress and backup CD or DVD data. It has many advantages over other compression formats like RAR and ZIP, such as password protection and data encryption. It also supports backing up multiple sessions of CD/DVD, Audio-CD, VCD, SVCD and DVD-Video.
Because of these features, ISO files are usually compressed in the UIF format. Now if you want to extract it then you can use a software called Magic ISO Maker. It is very efficient and can quickly decompress a UIF file.
Here are instructions for extracting (or converting) any UIF file to ISO.
1. Open Magic ISO Maker. Now go to Tools->Extract UIF Image. Check out the screenshot given below.
2. Now browse to the UIF file by clicking on the provided folder button in the source files area. The output file will be in the same directory where the UIF file is located. The default name of the output file will be the same as the input name. You can rename it if you want.
Magic ISO will automatically find and attach the extension to the output filename. So if the file is compressed from ISO to UIF then Magic ISO will decompress it to ISO format again.
Click the “Extract” button.
3. Magic ISO will start decompressing the file and you can see the status on the small pop-up window.
