Connect PSP Street to Computer to Play Games in Full Screen

When playing games on a PSP 4.3” screen, I bet you must have wondered what it would feel like if you could connect your console to your desktop or laptop and play the same game. Play on the big screen. If only the PSP had an HDMI output, we could easily connect it to a larger screen to add to the fun, but unfortunately that’s not the case. All we have is a USB cable output and that’s not enough to just plug and play…or is it?

Psp Game Runs On Laptop

Yes, there is a way out. Today we will see how you can connect your PSP to your computer and play all the games in full screen mode.

Note: You will require the PSP to run on custom firmware 6.60. If you are not running a custom firmware, you may have to update the firmware and install the firmware before you can continue.

Connect PSP to PC

Step 1: Make sure the PSP is not in USB auto-mount mode and it is not connected to your computer. Download the RemoteJoy Lite package on your computer and extract it to a folder.

Step 2: Navigate to RemoteJoy Lite\drivers\usb_driver and install PSPDriver on your computer. The driver works well for users using 32-bit Windows. If you are running 64 bit OS, you will have to wait for my next post where we will show you how you can install drivers in it as it is a bit complicated. (Here’s the difference between 32-bit and 64-bit and how to find out which one you’re running)

Install the driver

Step 3: Once the driver is installed on your computer, insert the PSP Memory Stick and copy RemoteJoyLite.prx to the Memory Stick\seplugin folder. If you don’t have the folder yet, you’ll have to create it.

Step 4: Open game.txt And vhs.txt file in jacks folder in your computer and copy the text in PSP’s vhs.txt and the game.txt file. If your PSP jacks there are no files, you can simply copy and paste them.

Step 5: Once that’s done, connect your PSP to your computer without inserting a memory card and activate the RemoteJoy Lite plugin in the PSP’s recovery menu. Once the plugin is activated, reset the PSP VHS recovery.

Step 6: After PSP restarts, you can run RemoteJoyLite_en.exe file from RemoteJoy Lite\GUI to display the PSP screen on your computer.

You can now explore the plugin on your computer to control various aspects like frame rate and screen resolution. To enable fullscreen mode, simply double-click the plugin display. You can even use the keys on the keyboard to play games.

Conclusion

I’m sure you’ll enjoy playing your favorite games on a bigger screen. Audio can be an issue as they still come out of the PSP but a pair of headphones should take care of that. 64-bit Windows users, wait from my next post to experience the fun.
