Can Eevee & Eeveelutions be Shiny in Pokemon GO?

Eevee is one of the most beloved Pokemon of all time, so it’s no surprise that Trainers around the world are eager to hunt down Shiny Eevee and its evolutions in Pokemon GO.

Shinies are incredibly rare variations that mix up a Pokemon’s colour scheme. They don’t affect stats, moves, or how well they perform in battle, but they offer the ultimate bragging rights. If you’re eager to add Shiny Eevee and the Eeveelutions to your collection in the mobile game, read on!

Can Eevee be Shiny in Pokemon GO?

The good news is that Shiny Eevee is available to encounter in Pokemon GO. Even better, this means that all of its evolutions – from Flareon to Sylveon – can be Shiny as well.

As always, Shinies are incredibly hard to find in Pokemon GO. The spawn rate for Shiny Eevee is estimated to be around 1-in-500, so you’re going to need to tap on plenty of them if you want a chance of finding one!

A good time to Shiny hunt is during an event where Eevee has boosted spawns, such as the Eevee Spotlight Hour on January 9, 2024, where you can encounter loads of Eeevee between 6PM and 7PM local time.

Here’s what Eevee and the Eeveelutions look like in their Shiny variations:

If you’re eager to evolve any of these Pokemon, we’ve got a guide to getting all of the Eeveelutions in Pokemon GO including their name tricks.

What is the best Shiny Eeveelution in Pokemon GO?

My favourite Shiny Eeveelutions are Umbreon and Sylveon. Compared to the other Shinies in this family, these are far more aesthetically pleasing and make a noticeable difference to their regular colour scheme.

It also helps that Umbreon has real potential in the Great League and Sylveon can be an excellent Fairy-type Raid attacker when powered up enough. This means they have use in the game beyond just looking pretty.

As for the other Shiny Eeveelutions, the differences for Glaceon, Leafeon, and Flareon are barely noticeable, while Espeon and Jolteon get a divisive green colour change. Vaporeon’s purple colour scheme is nice, though.

Considering how rare Shiny Eevee is, and how much effort you’ll have to put in to get some of these Shiny Eeveelutions, it’s definitely worth prioritising the ones that look the best!

That’s everything you need to know about Shiny Eevee and its evolutions. Visit our Pokemon GO homepage for more guides like the upcoming events, the next Spotlight Hour, and the latest promo codes.
