Automatically Sync Any Folder Between Computer and Android

In the past, we have seen how to access a Windows computer’s shared folder on Android over a Wi-Fi network and copy files between devices easily. This method really helps me when I have to copy music from computer to phone and photos from phone to computer. However, there is still something to be done handmade.

I want something automatic. For example, if I add a song to a folder on my computer, it will automatically sync to Android at a specific time over my home Wi-Fi. Similarly, if I take a picture with my phone, it will be copied to my computer’s photo library without my intervention. That’s what I wanted. And that’s when I found Cheetah Sync.

Cheetah Sync is a cool app for Android that automatically syncs files and folders between Windows and Android computers. So let’s see how it’s done.

How to Sync Files Using Cheetah Sync

Step 1: Download and install Cheetah Sync on your computer as well as on your Android (use the link in the paragraph above to find the Android app). Once both are installed, launch the PC app first.

Step 2: Cheetah Sync will start minimized in the system tray. Double-click the application icon to open the settings window. All default settings should work fine but if you are already connected to multiple networks, click IP Address drop-down control and select Connect to a wireless network.

Step 3: Make sure your Android is connected to the same network and launch Cheetah Sync on your device. On the home screen of the app, tap Synchronization of work. If both the computer and the device are connected to the same network and the Cheetah client is running on your computer, Cheetah Sync will automatically detect your computer.

By default, the sync mode is configured to manual, and you will have to click the sync button to start syncing. You can choose to sync automatically from the settings menu, but syncing doesn’t happen in real time to optimize battery life. You can choose one hour, four hours, eight hours or a day.

You can create multiple jobs to sync photos, music, videos, documents, and anything else you can think of. Don’t forget to share your thoughts on this app or if there is a better app you know that can do the same task.
