Tisto began releasing music on Noculan Records’ sublabels Chemo and Coolman in 1994, often recording tracks under the identities DJ Limited and Da Joker. Later that year, he signed with Basic Beat Recordings and began releasing albums on Arny Bink’s Trashcan sub-label. Tisto and Bink went on to co-found the Guardian Angel sub-label, which released the “Forbidden Paradise” series. Between 1995 and 1996, he released four EPs on Lightning Records sub-labels XTC and Bonzai Jumps before joining his friend Yves Vandichel’s DJ Yves sub-label in 1997. Tisto and Bink co-founded Black Hole Recordings after leaving Basic Beat Recordings in the fall of 1997. Tisto founded two Black Hole Recordings sub-labels, In Trance We Trust and SongBird.
