In April 2011, Moreno made his professional MMA debut in Mexico. In the first two years of his career, he had a 6–3 record. He made his World Fighting Federation debut in 2014 and has since gone 5-0, undefeated. He ultimately won the flyweight belt.

He was later replaced by Alexandre Pantoja. Moreno lost to Pantoja by a unanimous decision. He was then released by the UFC in late 2018, as Moreno disclosed in a 2019 interview. Moreno then signed a multi-fight contract with the Legacy Fighting Alliance, making his debut against then-Flyweight Champion Maikel Perez at LFA 69 in June 2019.
