All Warzone changes for Black Ops 6

With Black Ops 6 launching later in the year, Warzone is set to get a large update that changes some of the mechanics and integrates aspects of the latest Call of Duty into the game.

Here are all the biggest changes coming to Warzone, and what they mean for the gameplay experience.

All Warzone changes

Some of the biggest changes come with integrating BO6’s gameplay systems and mechanics.

  • Omnimovement – The new 360-degree movement system that lets players chain together manoeuvres like sprinting, sliding, diving, and prone
  • Black Ops Ordnance – All the Primary and Secondary weapons, Tacticals, Lethals, and Field Upgrades from BO6 will be in Warzone from the launch of Season 1
  • Dedicated Melee – You can now bring a melee weapon into Warzone and equip it separately to your guns
  • Global Weapon Builds – The Gunsmith has been upgraded with the ability to make changes to any build or blueprint in any game
  • Carry Forward Content – Warzone will have all the weapons, blueprints, skins, and Operators from Modern Warfare 2 and 3, along with new content from Black Ops 6
  • Classic Prestige and Relocks – A new levelling system introduced with BO6 that gives you unique rewards for making the grind and getting Prestige levels
  • Relocks – When you Prestige, your Military Levels from 1-55 are reset and need to be unlocked again. Your weapon progress will be kept, and you can use Permanent Unlock Tokens to get your favourite gear
  • Emotes and Sprays – Both these mechanics return, allowing you to mark walls with sprays, or emote anytime you like

Pick-3 Perks

The Perk integration is a little different, with Warzone having a unique system called Pick-3.

Before you drop into a game, you can choose any three Perks from your loadout, along with a Wildcard to augment your loadout.

Dying in-game will drop your Pick-3 Perks, allowing you to pick them back up. Perks are also lootable more generally, allowing you to gain more than three by picking them up from caches. Perk Packages will also remain.

The Perks you can choose are also set to be rotated in and out of a pool throughout the game’s life, to keep things fresh.

Backpacks are gone

Warzone’s classic inventory system returns, meaning backpacks are no more. Entering into the non-loadout inventory will show a series of slots for the following:

  • Cash
  • Gas Mask
  • Armour Plates
  • Killstreaks
  • Field Upgrade
  • Primary, Secondary, and Melee Weapons
  • Ammunition

Return of Satchels

With no backpacks and more limited storage, Satchels are back to help expand what you’re able to carry. These are lootable pieces of equipment you can find in a game, with two types available:

  • Armour Satchel – Expand the amount of Armour Plates you can carry
  • Munitions Satchel – Increase the Ammunition capacity for ARs, SMGs, Shotguns, Snipers, and Launchers

One Satchel of each type can be picked up and equipped, and they drop on your death.

More Challenges

There are more challenges than ever for you to take part in when playing. These are:

  • Weapon Mastery Camo Challenges – Warzone has a separate set of Mastery Challenges than BO6 for each of the new weapons
  • Reticle Challenges – You can customise the reticle of your optic sight once more, and there are Warzone-specific challenges to unlock these for use in each game mode
  • Dark Ops Calling Card Challenges – The most difficult challenge types as the criteria for completing one aren’t even listed until you finish it. These will unlock some of the most unique Calling Cards available
