Will DMZ be in MW3? All known game modes so far

With Modern Warfare 3 just around the corner there is a lot of talk surrounding which game modes will be included, with the DMZ extraction game mode being of particular interest to many.

Introduced just after the launch of Modern Warfare 2, DMZ was an adaptation of the Warzone formula that took inspiration from other extraction shooters like Escape From Tarkov. It has become a fan favourite over the course of the game cycle, but many players are worried that it might not make its way over to the new game.

However, we’ve got all of the answers you’ll need below, alongside a complete list of every game mode confirmed so far, so make sure to continue reading to find out if DMZ will be in MW3.

Will DMZ be in Modern Warfare 3?

It is unclear at this current point in time whether DMZ will be in MW3 or not, as there has been no concrete mention of the game mode transferring over. While the game mode did release with Modern Warfare 2, it is tied explicitly to Warzone and thus could exist independently from each yearly release like the battle royale.

Zombies has been confirmed to return this year, so that could potentially take the place of the extraction mode, but perhaps we could see an adaptation of DMZ with zombies instead of military NPCs.

We will let you know if any new information does arise though, so make sure to check back here again soon for the latest updates.

Here are all of the confirmed MW3 game modes that we know of so far:

  • Campaign
  • Multiplayer
  • Zombies

It is unsurprising to see a Call of Duty title receive a campaign, and the fan-favourite Zombies game mode is of course returning too. There have also been a few confirmed multiplayer modes, which we have listed below for you:

  • Cutthroat
  • Ground War
  • Invasion
  • War Mode

Ground War and Invasion have of course appeared in recent CoD games, and War Mode was available in both World at War and Black Ops 4. Cutthroat, however, is a completely new mode – and while we don’t know too much about it, it is likely to bring new excitement to the series.

Furthermore, while they have not been officially confirmed so far, it would be incredibly surprising to not see the classics like Team Deathmatch, Free for All, Kill Confirmed, Search and Destroy, and more appear in MW3, so it is best to presume that they will be there too.

So, that wraps up all of the game modes that we know of so far in MW3, letting you know whether DMZ will appear in the new game too.
