An American policeman, Bruce Allen Smith trended for the wrong reasons after he was named as one of the key suspects in the rape and murder of Helen Wilson, an American.
Who is Bruce Allen Smith?
Bruce Allen Smith murdered Helen Wilson an American who was 68 years old at that time and was based in a small town in Beatrice, Nebraska. According to an eyewitness, Bruce in February 1985, was seen at a local bar taking alcohol, before leaving the place late at night for a party. He was thrown out of the party after creating confusion and threatened to rape one of the guests. Around, 3 am at dawn, he returned to Beatrice where he went to Helen’s apartment, raped and kill her. Even though he was a key suspect in the murder incident at that time, his DNA and blood samples didn’t match that of the evidence at the crime scene. He was therefore freed. Six other people presently referred to as the Beatrice Six were now accused of raping and killing Helen and sentenced to 75 years imprisonment before eventually being released after spending 23 years in prison after a DNA test revealed they were not the killers of Helen.
