The New York Mets signed international free agent Andres Gimenez in 2015, and he made his MLB on July 24, 2020. After he signed for the Mets, he went on to play for a number of lower-league teams and has garnered praise for his outstanding on-field performance.
Gimenez made his professional debut for the Dominican Summer League Mets in 2016. He spent the entire season there, where he batted a combined .350 with three home runs, 38 runs batted in (RBIs), and a .992 on-base plus slugging (OPS).
