During Scott’s first season as Cavaliers coach, his team went on a 26-game losing streak, which was the longest in NBA history at the time.
Scott worked as a Lakers television analyst for Time Warner Cable SportsNet during the 2013-14 season. Following the season, he was considered the frontrunner to become the new Lakers head coach.
Scott was interviewed three times for the position, which became available following Mike D’Antoni’s resignation. He signed a multi-year contract with the Lakers on July 28, 2014.
